About Me

My name is Carolina, I live in United States. I have always been painting using different mediums, such us oil or acrylic over canvas. I have also been learning watercolor painting since 2021 I like improving my watercolor painting skills by attending several in person and online courses. I paint what I find interesting to recreate in watercolor. My main subjects to illustrate range from florals, foliage, birds, to seascapes and landscapes.

Watercolor is a beautiful medium that allows creating art using the transparency, fluidity, and luminosity of both, water and paint. I been learning and applied a variety of techniques to create my artwork, including wet-on-wet, dry-brush, and glazing techniques. My artwork showcases the beauty and transparency of watercolor while highlighting the details and intricacies of the subjects. The watercolor painting requires patience, and practice. It is a medium that demands an understanding of color theory, composition, and the properties of water and paper. Watercolor painting it is very interesting and entertaining to me because I can combine a variety of other materials as inks or colored pencil or images cut from magazines or newspapers and I can create unique effects. You can see all this effect applied to my illustrations. Watercolor is a medium that can be both unpredictable, and even mistakes can lead me to unexpected and interesting results.

For me, watercolor painting is not just a hobby but also a way to connect with the natural world. You can find me in my studio painting watercolor most of the time, and when I am not painting I spend my day training, walking, cooking, learning new cooking recipes, shopping, reading and travel and also spending time helping my husband with some scientific work or just chatting with him.
